I am committed to making the withSandie website a welcoming space for all visitors, including those with diverse sensory and cognitive needs. Supporting wellbeing through holistic coaching, NLP, and creative workshops means ensuring that everyone can access my services with ease. This statement outlines the steps I have taken to improve my digital presence and provides information on physical accessibility for my in-person sessions and nature-led retreats, ensuring I meet all necessary UK standards for a solo practitioner.
Accessibility Statement
Updated on 24th May 2024.
At withSandie, I am actively working to ensure this website (withsandie.com) is accessible and inclusive for individuals with disabilities and those using assistive technology.
Defining Web Inclusion
An inclusive website ensures that all visitors, regardless of ability or impairment, can navigate and interact with content seamlessly. By using assistive tools and following best practices, I aim to provide a digital experience that reflects the supportive and caring nature of my therapeutic practice.
Digital Accessibility at withSandie
I have designed this site in line with WCAG 2.1 guidelines to reach AA-level accessibility. My goal is to ensure the site works effectively with screen readers and keyboard navigation. I have specifically implemented the following:
- Comprehensive use of the Accessibility Wizard to resolve technical issues.
- Correct language tagging and a logical reading order for all content.
- Clear, descriptive heading structures across every page.
- Descriptive alt-text for images and nature-inspired artwork.
- High-contrast colour schemes for better readability.
- Minimized motion to support users with vestibular sensitivities.
- Ensuring all video content and coaching resources are accessible.
External Content Compliance
While I strive for total accessibility, some elements like third-party booking tools or social media feeds may be outside my direct control. I monitor these regularly to ensure they remain as user-friendly as possible for those seeking coaching or workshop information.
In-person & Workshop Accessibility
I offer coaching in-person, online, and through 'walk-and-talk' sessions. For in-person 1-1 sessions and workshops, I select venues that offer step-free access and quiet environments, though individual locations vary. My walk-and-talk sessions are tailored to your mobility needs; we can choose paved paths or more rugged nature trails depending on what feels right for you. For retreats, I provide specific accessibility details per venue. Please contact me directly if you have specific physical requirements so I can ensure you are fully supported.
